Wedding Trends 2014

all white bouquet with white feathersWeddings are the most important occasion for us. It is a rite of passage and takes us on our own journey in life. As a floral gallery, it is important for us to stay on top of ALL wedding trends. Style of the wedding is important when we are designing the floral bouquets and table centerpieces for each and every wedding we do.

As with 2013, 2014 will continue to favor vintage weddings with flapper’s, feathers, crystal and lace making a big splash. Burlap, Gingham, Checks, Stripes are also a popular choice this year. Grace Kelly has a huge influence on style. She had the most elegant wedding dress of all time. Many dress designers use her as a model for their 2013 – 2014 collections.

Lace and long sleeves have made a comeback. Bare and plunging backs and crystal encrusted gowns with or without long sleeves are very popular. Bejewelled sashes and crystal bridal belts will add a touch of glimmer. Bridal Gloves or embroidered bridal cuffs are another touch for a vintage wedding.

Bride holding glitz bouquetHeadpeices will be much more popular this year than traditional tiaras or veils. Rhinestones and Feathers will be featured in some really creative headwear. Shoes will be jeweled, crystal, lace or metallic toned peep-toe.

We are designing beautiful floral bouquets with lots of colorful and glitzy brooches added. A cascade bouquet is the number 1 choice with our brides for their bouquets with round style bouquets for the bridal party. White and purple are the most popular color. With lily’s, roses and orchids cascading down the bouquet.  Feathers are especially popular. They can be utilized in many different ways from popping them into the brides bouquet to wonderful table centerpieces that are big and bold.

Just remember to keep your decorations minimal. Less is always best. Big and Bold gives just the right impact. Too much clutter will spoil the effect of your reception tables. Chair covers are still elegant and your linen sets your table.

There is so much more to a wedding like cake, DJ, and of course your photographer. I will cover some of these things in another blog. Have fun planning your wedding!
